Why Spending October In Transylvania Is The Best Halloween Experience

Romania offers the most unique Halloween experience in the world. In Transylvania, you’ll come across everything that you imagine to be related with halloween – haunted castles, gothic architecture, myths about werewolves and Dracula are just a few examples. Intrepid and G Adventures both offer great itineraries for this special holiday season. Below are a few places to visit within Transylvania.

Brasov is the city where you will find medieval Saxon walls and bastions surrounded by the gothic style Black Church. You can climb or take the cable car up Mt Tampa to get an incredible view of the city or visit the Museum of the Romanian Peasant. Indulge in local dishes and learn how to make traditional cuisine. Here you’ll experience home cooked food such as tocanita – a meat stew with tomatoes and ciroba – a sour meatball soup.
