If you want to escape bustling Bangkok for a few days and look for a paradise escape in Thailand, head to the South where you will find many options to island hop and explore. You can fly directly from Bangkok into one of the island’s airports such as Koh Samui or Krabi. The other option is taking an overnight train at night from Bangkok and arriving the next morning which is the route I took. Once in the South to get from one island to another there are convenient ferry services to connect you.
If you enjoy snorkelling, Koh Tao is one of the best places to experience swimming with some colourful fish. You can also spot some whale sharks.
Koh Phangan is known as the party island. If you go there during the Full Moon Party you’ll experience dancing on the beach in the moonlight to the smooth rhythms of various music genres like techno and reggae. I enjoyed swimming at sunset here the most to watch the sun go down.
From Koh Tao, I took a boat to do a day trip in Koh Nang Yuan where I found the most incredible lookout point. This is a great island to lounge on the beach and enjoy the scenery.
Koh Samui As the second largest island in Thailand, Koh Samui offers a bundle of various activities to choose from. Beyond the exquisite beaches, you can relax on one of the various luxury resorts, venture your way into the rainforest, visit some temples and go in search of some charming waterfalls.
